CAMPAIGN 2024
Thirty-seven Years of Service

Our Fund-Raising Campaign 2025 will run August 1, 2025 -  January 2026. This is our 39th year of providing help to our rural communities.
===========July, 2025
Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We are grateful that we can celebrate another year of ministry to help the residents of our rural communities in both Cortland and Chenango Counties (Cincinnatus, Willet, Solon, Taylor, Freetown, Pitcher, Otselic, Lincklaen, German, Marathon, McDonough, and Pharsalia. With your continued support we have been able to meet the needs of many neighbors.

We have worked diligently to provide our constituents with much needed support for food, utility and housing needs, transportation and various other issues. We are indebted to those who continue to support our mission and have allowed us to provide necessary help to those families striving to survive in these uncertain times.

We continue to offer assistance with school supplies, haircuts and sneakers, Thanksgiving and Christmas food packages and gifts. We have helped many through our Food Pantry and with clothing through our Nearly New Store.

Whenever possible we offer dairy, meat, fresh fruits and vegetables through our Food Pantry. We also have diapers and formula available as well as personal hygiene products.

The Farmers’ Market provides locally grown produce, honey, syrup, eggs, baked goods, and other items.

The Food Sense program is a popular way to help stretch food dollars.

With your support we are able to continue the ninth year of our “No Child Hungry” program with a coordinated effort with the local school. This past year we served 87 students representing 59 families. Volunteers shopped and packed over 2,794 bags.

The Willet Cincinnatus Senior Center is currently using the facilities at Seton Hall at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church here in Cincinnatus. Activities, food, and fellowship help to break up the isolation felt by many of our senior population. This mission is also managed by Rural Services and supported by the Cortland County Office of the Aging and Legislative Grant.

As our facilities age we are finding more repairs and replacements are necessary including two storage sheds. Our garden walking path needs repaving to make more accessible for wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. New landscaping for the benches and gazebo in our meditation area is being planned and agriculture students have been invited to participate. Two furnaces in our facilities are over 30 years old and need replacement. Repairs to our deck and ramps are needed also.

The mission of Cortland-Chenango Rural Services is helping those in need in our rural communities. While we have many services at our physical location and provide space for outside agencies to meet with our constituents, we are also able to help people by referring them to other appropriate agencies.

Your generosity makes all the difference. Only with your support can our volunteers and staff continue to provide these vital services to those in need. Anything that you can donate will allow us to continue our mission of providing assistance to those less fortunate in our rural communities. Thank you for your support.

With sincere appreciation,
Rural Services Board Members, Staff, and Volunteers
